2023 Undergraduate Symposium

On April 7th, 2023, the Gamma Pi Alumni Association of Kappa Alpha Psi sponsored the annual undergraduate symposium for the 2023 graduates and new initiates. The theme of this year’s symposium was, “Training for the 21st Century Kappa.”

Bro. Dr. David Maxwell served as the moderator and did a phenomenal job of picking the brains of a distinguished panel of Gamma Pi initiated brothers. The panel consisted of:

  • Bro. Sylvester Harris, Entrepreneur and Professional Contractor, Fall ’90
  • Bro. Eric Jones, AT&T Regional Director Extramural Affairs, Spr. ’93
  • Bro. Preston Lee, Retired School Administrator (Piney Woods Day School), Spr. ’69
  • Bro. Marvin Smith, Retired Air Traffic Controller, Spr. ’89
  • Bro. Anthony Heidelberg, Attorney at Law (Adams County Prosecutor), Spr. ’88

Additional fraternal accolades include the current Polemarch, Bro. Rowan Neal as a recipient of the Gamma Pi Endowed Scholarship award in the financial amount of $2,000 and the Eric Keys award recipient was sponsored by the SJ Harris Company of past GPAA chairman, Bro. Sylvester Harris. As we continue to celebrate the achievements of the GPAA, let’s also individually and collectively pause to reflect on what Gamma Pi means to our chapter, the fraternity, and our beloved alma mater, The Alcorn State University.
