Brother Malcom Jones - Member Spotlight 1st Quarter 2026

Dr. Malcolm Jones II is an accomplished educational leader, former Division I student-athlete, and dedicated advocate for student development and long-term success.

With nearly 30 years of experience in education, Dr. Jones currently serves as an Assistant Superintendent in Arkansas, where he leads instructional improvement efforts and supports multiple campuses in increasing student achievement. Throughout his career, he has led school turnaround efforts and improved graduation outcomes, contributing to significant academic growth. His work has been recognized with the “Beating the Odds” award from the University of Arkansas Office for Education Policy, which honors schools that outperform expectations in student achievement when compared to similar demographics.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Jones served in various leadership capacities, including principal, assistant principal, athletic director, and classroom teacher. In addition, he built a reputation as a successful football coach across multiple schools in Mississippi and Tennessee, developing competitive programs while emphasizing discipline, structure, and academic accountability.

A former Division I football player at Alcorn State University, Dr. Jones brings a unique perspective shaped by his experiences both on the field and in education. His work emphasizes preparing students, especially student-athletes, for success not only in their current roles, but also in life beyond them.

Dr. Jones earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master’s degree in Biology Education from Alcorn State University. He later completed his Doctorate in School Leadership from Mississippi College in 2022. He continues to invest in professional growth and leadership development at the district level.

He is the author of the upcoming book Cheated: How American Athletics Profits from Performance While Failing to Protect the People Inside It, which challenges current systems and highlights the importance of preparing young people for life after sports.

Dr. Jones is a Spring 1993 initiate of the Gamma Pi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and remains committed to mentoring and developing the next generation of leaders.
