Richard H. Seals, Jr. was born and raised in Winona, Mississippi. He received his education from the Montgomery County School District. He graduated from Montgomery County Vocational High School as the valedictorian. After high school, he matriculated to Alcorn A & M College (Alcorn State University) in 1964 where received a BS Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting in May 1968.
In April 1965, Richard and nine young men were initiated into the Scroller Club of Gamma Pi Chapter and on December 12, 1965, they were initiated into the Gamma Pi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and a Life Member of the Noble Klan.
In January 1969, Richard was drafted into the military (Army) where he served for two years. His assigned duty was at Dugway Proving Grounds in Dugway, Utah. Richard left the Army with the rank of Specialist E-5 in December 1970.
In 1971, he relocated to Chicago, Illinois. Richard worked for William Wrigley, Jr. Company as a Cost Accountant. After two years, he began working for Powers Regulator Company in Skokie, Illinois. After four and one-half years, he began working for Allstate Insurance Company in Northbrook, Illinois in the Corporate Accounting Department. Richard retired after 28 years from Allstate in May 2006.
Richard married Vera D. Moore in 1971 and have two daughters. Richard and Vera moved back to Mississippi in 2006. He is currently a member of Pleasant Green M.B. Church where he is a member of the Deacon Board and former President of the Usher Board.
