GPAA Strengthens Its Brand at ASUNAA Mid-Winter Conference in Dallas

The Gamma Pi Alumni Association (GPAA) continues to lead by example when it comes to alumni engagement and organizational excellence. From March 7–9, 2025, the GPAA Fundraising Committee and Board of Directors proudly participated as a key partner in the Alcorn State University National Alumni Association (ASUNAA) Mid-Winter Conference, held in Dallas, Texas.

The purpose of GPAA’s presence was clear: to elevate the GPAA brand and foster deeper connections with ASUNAA members through strategic engagement and meaningful touchpoints. Over the course of the conference, GPAA hosted three dynamic events that not only showcased our leadership but also created opportunities for increased alumni participation and support.

Here’s how GPAA made an impact:

  1. Leadership in Action
Chairman Brother David Maxwell delivered an inspiring and informative presentation titled “The Keys to Establishing and Sustaining a Successful Alumni Association.” His insights offered practical strategies and motivation for alumni leaders nationwide, reinforcing GPAA’s position as a model alumni association.

  2. Southern Hospitality with a Purpose
Brother Lamar Curtis took the lead in coordinating a full breakfast for conference attendees—an event that provided both nourishment and fellowship while emphasizing GPAA’s commitment to hospitality and connection.

  3. Celebrating Brotherhood
In honor of their 25th year reunion, the Spring 2000 line partnered with GPAA to host Saturday night’s hospitality suite. This celebratory event blended nostalgia, networking, and promotion of GPAA’s fundraising initiatives.

Each of these moments served a larger purpose—introducing and rallying support for our upcoming fundraisers:

  • The 9th Annual Marino Casem Scholarship Tournament, taking place Friday, October 9, 2025, during Alcorn’s Homecoming Weekend.

  • Cruising for Excellence, our exciting new Caribbean Cruise fundraiser, which will depart from Miami. During the conference, we also connected with the ASU-South Miami Chapter, which expressed interest in hosting our group either before or after the cruise.

Through strategic involvement and thoughtful programming, the GPAA left a lasting impression on fellow alumni, proving once again why our chapter stands out.

Stay connected. Stay inspired. Let’s keep building excellence—together.
