The Gamma Pi Chapter Celebrates 75 years

In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Gamma Pi Chapter, the Gamma Pi Alumni Association (GPAA) partnered with the undergraduates for a series of events held April 11–14, 2024 in Vicksburg, MS and on the campus of Alcorn State to honor the rich history of our beloved chapter.

This was a momentous occasion shared by a diverse group of Brothers along with Alcorn President, Dr. Tracy Cook who participated in events that included a campus-wide barbecue, suit giveaway and golf outing. The weekend culminated with a gala headlined by Southwestern Province Polemarch, C. Jerome Brown. The gala included a three-course meal and celebratory toast, reflected on the chapter’s past, honored members, emphasized building toward an even more impactful future and highlighted the beauty of the brotherhood.

The intent of the weekend was to not just celebrate but also use the occasion to fellowship, uplift and educate everyone on the strides of the undergraduates and GPAA. Brothers were informed of the progress made over the past few years and the GPAA was intentional in its efforts to reclaim Brothers who have not been involved.

The GPAA would like to personally thank everyone who participated and made donations, along with an expression of gratitude to the Gamma Pi 75th Anniversary Committee led by Bro. Sylvester Harris for their role in the planning and success of the event.
