Message From The Chairman
To: The Brothers of the Gamma Pi Alumni Association
Greetings Brothers,
First and foremost, I would like to thank you all for your vote of confidence and trust in elevating me to lead as the Chairman of our beloved Gamma Pi Alumni Association (GPAA). The GPAA is on an upward trajectory and your current administration pledges to give you our collective best effort in continuing our pursuit of achievement! The GPAA would not enjoy our current level of prestige, fellowship, and brotherhood without YOU! For this reason, we will serve YOU under the mantra “BETTER TOGETHER.” Our Better Together legacy can be seen in our most recent family GPAA 2024 Soul Bowl Tailgate. Please view and/or upload any photos you would like to have included to our album or forward to gpi491949@gmail.com.
The GPAA held its bi-annual meeting on Friday night of the Soul Bowl Weekend in Natchez, MS. I laid out my vision for the Association and the way forward over the next two years. The cornerstone of our tenure will be centered upon the building of, “The Monument.” More detailed information will be forthcoming from the committees responsible for the planning, designing, building, and capital campaign. During the meeting, the results from the election held via the emailed electronic ballot were shared with those in attendance. Be sure to check out our GPAA website regularly for more information.
I would be remiss if I did not thank the outgoing GPAA Chairman Marvin Smith for his leadership over the past two years. Marvin and his team have left our organization on a glide path for further future success that will enable the current administration to achieve our priorities. As a reminder, annual dues are due on Jan 1, 2025. I am asking that you become a GPAA subscribing member. The GPAA subscribing membership selection creates a more predictable cash flow situation for the Association by allowing for your dues to be automatically drafted each year. As your new GPAA Chairman, I welcome your ideas and assistance because “Membership Matters and we are Better Together!”
Yours in the bond,
Dr. David R. Maxwell
